ABOUT THAT FRESNO BLOG

Fresno is more than a pit stop!

Attempts to market Fresno, California have been focused on stressing the city’s proximity to famous tourist attractions. The goal of this blog, instead, is to show that Fresno is more than a pit stop. What makes the County of Fresno unique  is the people and its history. The purpose of this blog is to help me and other residents of Fresno  learn a thing or two about the history, future, people, businesses and events of their community. Everyone has a story to tell about Fresno, whether it’s good or bad.

ABOUT ME

The Stumpf family came straight to Fresno from the Volga River in Russia in 1898. Like my ancestors before me, I have always been content with going to school and living in Fresno. I never understood why people my age were desperate to get out of Fresno. And yet, when people asked why I liked Fresno, the only response I could think of is, “it’s convenient.”

I graduated from Bullard High School in 2009. Soon after, I attended Fresno City College and I obtained my B.A. in Economics at Fresno State in Spring of 2011. I received my California real estate brokers license in January of 2012. I now work full-time for my family’s commercial real estate business, Stumpf and Company.

Before I graduated college, I was a hermit and extremely frugal. I did little in Fresno and I knew even less about this hometown I love. Since graduating over a year ago, I have challenged myself to me bold by meeting new people, become part of this community, and learn to be young and slightly financially irresponsible.

While I continue to dodge questions about grad school, I plan on discovering this understated city I live in.
